The advanced oxidation process (AOPs) induced by ultraviolet light has begun to be widely applied in the purification of organic waste gases. Its principle involves purification treatment through bifunctional ultraviolet lamps emitting 185nm and 254nm wavelengths. The 185nm ultraviolet light can trigger the transformation of O2 in the air into O3, while under the catalyzing effect of the 254nm light, O3 is transformed into the strong oxidant ˙OH, which then decomposes organic pollutants into H2O and CO2.
